News and Events at Farley Hill
FHM announce events for the coming months.
Farley Hill Methodists (FHM) having taken a breather after the excitement and activity of 2012 their Golden Anniversary Celebrations now look forward to a new programme of events which includes some slight changes.
The Lunch Club of course continued without halt January's Lunch having the theme ROBERT BURNS which meant a starter of haggis and neeps, the address the Selkirk Grace and the monthly news booklet some of the great Bards works. February's theme, each month has one, is St Valentines Day and the starter this month will be a glass of Passion Fruit Juice! The booklet will contain stories of some great lovers.
The lunches take place on the second Wednesday of each month 12.30 for 1pm, February's date being 13th.
On Good Friday 29th March FHM join with the three other Farley Churches in the Good Friday Walk of Witness starting from St. John the Baptist Rotheram Way Farley Hill, the number one bus from Park Street takes you to the door, a short service in the shopping quad then a walk past the Catholic Church to FHM North Drift Way for refreshments.
Saturday April 20th Luton Road Ensemble make a welcome return after last years grand evening. The event commences with a service of thanksgiving to welcome in the 2013 social season at 6.30, followed at 7pm by a buffet and fellowship and at 8 O'clock the entertainment commences until about 9 to 9.15. Peter Smithers and his gang put on a really good show last year.
Saturday June 8th. A Variety Show put on by the excellent 'That's Entertainment' group with audience participation. The evening commences with a buffet at 7pm and the show from 8 to 9.15.
Entry to both events is free but of course your donation will unlock the front door!
Saturday 13th July The ever popular Annual Charity Concert with the Bedfordshire Police Choir this will be the 10th charity concert and the Police Choir's eighth. The concert commences at 7pm admission £3.00 and £2.00 the same price as at our first concert in 2003 we make the concerts available to everyone. As it is for charity we have a retiring collection for those who can afford to pay extra.
Messy Church continues under the leadership of Rev Julie Bradshaw every second Wednesday (13th Feb) 3.45 lots of fun worth taking a trip up.
The last item on the works programme list - the car park - should be completed this month during the half term break during the half term break and property Secretary Ken Cameron is praying for good weather in order the car park can be laid. There will, of course, be a grand opening a service of dedication and a buffet.

Farley Bears, the pre-school nursery is open from 8.45 to 11.45 Monday to Friday but will open in the afternoon after the half term break from noon to 3pm. They recently received full marks from OFSTEAD on a visit for their child care and the activities.
